INFIL MANIPULATION
>TPU filament

In this project I focused on one particular part of 3D printing: infill structures. Infill structures are fillings of every 3d printed object enhancing its sturdiness, saving material and making the object lighter. My project consisted of manipulation of the infill structures, by removing the standard outer layer of average 3d printed object and exposing the inside. Final samples showcase also different infill densities through unified structures to control their movement, flexibility and shore hardness.

As a showcase of this method, I 3d printed an outsole of a shoe that was built up form a 3d scan of my foot. I used my footprint to customize the different densities of infill within the structure of the outsole. This way it became a fully personalized object. After I created the outsole, I hand stitched an upper to finish the whole silhouette.
